THE RITZ-CARLTON

Located at the terminus Lincoln Road on South Beach, The Ritz-Carlton is undergoing a restoration to update the guest arrival experience of this historic art deco building.  Improvements to roadside plantings will introduce textural layers to soften expansive paved surfaces creating a lush sub-tropical feel. A cluster of specimen Green Buttonwood Trees will provide an iconic terminus to Lincoln Road and be uplit at night highlighting the sculptural characteristics of the Buttonwood trunks. Native and naturalized salt-tolerant palms will be strategically placed to scale the building and shade pedestrian walkways and gathering spaces. Dark modular pavers will create a foundation for the building to rest upon while delineating public and private spaces. The proposed canopy structure will merge with the existing hotel entry colonnade to provide additional shade and protection from the elements as well as casting shade patters on the paving below.
